Mantra is another object of meditation. Mantras are chanting energy. The purpose is to focus the mind. (Man=the mind Tranam=protect)

mananāt trāyate iti mantraḥ = that which binds your mind in one place

SoHam I am that.

Tatvamasi > know thyself > I am that.

Inhale So Exhale Ham, when this becomes a repetition without awareness change it : Inhale Ham Exhale So.

There are three ways to practice mantras :

  1. Vaikhari : To pronounce the mantra loudly.
  2. Upamshu : Slowly pronounce, only lip like a whispering tone.
  3. Manas : No sound. Mentally.

The mantra reveals the knowledge by itself.
